Whiteboarding, formative assessment, and my forays into all things Algebra 2! Since I have whiteboards for each table of 2 in my room, I have been trying to find ways to incorporate them into the work we do. Kelly O’Shea has a phenomenal blog about what happens in her Physics classes. She explained this idea of Whiteboard Speed dating , and I knew I had to give it a shot. Set desks up in a circle with two kids per desk. There is 1 white board for every group of 2 kids. You give everyone the same problem to work on. After a short length of time you tell the student everyone is going to move. You tell each team of 2 to volunteer one kid to raise their hand.

Using his super-speed powers, he taps into the Speed Force and becomes a costumed crime-fighter. He is a founding member of the Justice League. Origin When Barry was a boy, his parents’ relationship wasn’t going well, and while he prepared to participate in a spelling bee at school, his mother Nora was struggling to encourage him despite working double shifts and trying to get a divorce from his father Henry. He received the divorce papers on the day of the spelling bee, and because Nora had to work, he seethed and took Barry to school.
When Nora returned from work, she was happy to see that her son had won the competition, but she was obligated to speak to Henry about their relationship, and so Barry was sent to the bookstore in the meantime. By the time Barry returned, his mother had been murdered, and his father had been placed under arrest, though he professed his innocence.
After getting bit by a radioactive spider on a field trip to Oscorp Labs, fifteen year old Peter Parker gains amazing powers. But after using them to wrestle, ultimately winning a fight and one hundred dollars, his cockiness gets his uncle Ben killed by accident.
They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers. It really depends on which green lantern one is referring to, as there are thousands upon thousands. The entire green lantern storyline is so engaging because as there is the Marvel universe or the DC universe, it is as though the green lantern universe could easily be its own thing. There are various different green lanterns one could follow, and there are more conflicts and villains than any other superhero has.
Except the batman family, because those guys have a big ass heap on their plate. The green lantern rings themselves are a very creative concept, more so than most of the other superheroes on this list. Think about Thor, for example- he was already a character of much fame! Anyway, all of the conflicts between Hal Jordan and earth and his fellow lanterns and his nemesis Sinestro and even his bosses the guardians creates a story line that is incredibly engaging.
Part of this is because the writers can be so original with every new story line, as there

Shingeki no Kyojin Centuries ago, mankind was slaughtered to near extinction by monstrous humanoid creatures called titans, forcing humans to hide in fear behind enormous concentric walls. What makes these giants truly terrifying is that their taste for human flesh is not born out of hunger but what appears to be out of pleasure. To ensure their survival, the remnants of humanity began living within defensive barriers, resulting in one hundred years without a single titan encounter.
However, that fragile calm is soon shattered when a colossal titan manages to breach the supposedly impregnable outer wall, reigniting the fight for survival against the man-eating abominations.

I wasn’t surprised that this peticular one now has disapoeared. I remember catching this on HBO a long long time ago. Nothing was on and I watched it. Put this one in my favorite list. Most people snare when I mention this movie but it’s funny. You have to love the synthesizers also present in the movie. Ernest Borgnine, before Airwolf, plays Sgt. Fictional character biography[ edit ] Jimmy Olsen and Lucy Lane, from her debut. Art by Curt Swan and John Giunta. In the Silver Age stories, Lucy was presented as an airline stewardess who was an on-again, off-again romantic interest of Jimmy Olsen. Lucy’s Silver Age appearances often revolved around Jimmy’s various attempts at romancing her. After many encounters with super-villains such as Sleez , Deathstroke , and even becoming a vampire bride, she eventually started dating African-American Daily Planet staff member Ron Troupe. Not ones to miss an opportunity for corporate synergy, Marvel is releasing The Amazing Spider-Man 1 this week, featuring the triumphant return of the original wall-crawler to the Marvel Universe. After a year away, and Doctor Otto Octavious taking over his body and his role as the Amazing Superior Spider-Man, Peter Parker is back from the great beyond and in his own body again. But his life sure is different from where it was before, and Peter now has to contend with the reality that, in some ways, Doc Ock was the superior Peter Parker, if not the superior superhero.
Issue 1 opens with a flashback to thirteen years ago, when Peter first got bit by that pesky spider. This officially establishes that the modern Marvel universe is only about thirteen years old, which means the perennially youthful Peter Parker is now pushing thirty! I kind of love that Marvel has allowed their heroes to age at least somewhat, while DC is trying to convince us that Superman and Batman are still twenty-five.
Most of the drama in this issue comes from Peter just trying to get a handle on his new life, and not some big villain plot, which is the stuff good Spidey stories are usually made of. I hope we see them again. Although Mary Jane is in this issue, watching a news feed on her laptop of her ex getting caught in his birthday suit, the focus is not on her for a change.
How rad would that be?

Spider-Man Beyond by Show Expert 1 reviews Spider-Man has been a famous hero, but he was also a human and the time had to come for him to retire, but his legacy continues. Paul Porter was just an average teenager who just minded his own business.
The Flash was created by DC Comics, and the character made his first appearance into the world in Flash is a crime scene scientist who moonlights as a superhero, and he is known for his special powers which include super speed, intangibility and superhuman agility.
This issue starts with Octavius being told that the government has finally figured out how to separate him from his tentacles. Now, he will be just another harmless prisoner. At least, that’s what everyone else thinks. Unknown to them, Ock doesn’t need to be connected to his artificial arms to use them. He has developed a type of psychic link with the things.
Now that they are being placed in a simple storage, it’s all too easy for Ock to control them into breaking him out. The next day, Spider-Man steals Jameson’s morning paper because they are good pals like that and finds out about the escape. He thinks that it’d be for the best if Ock just never showed up again. As you may all recall, his encounters with the guy were all very close, very hard fights.
Then Thor passes by. It only comes out once a month! Anyway, we cut to another scene, a very sinister scene.

Background A young Starfire with her family. Starfire was born and raised on the planet Tamaran before arriving on Earth and joining the Teen Titans. The Tamaraneans are an emotional race who see feelings and sensations as the force that drives their very livelihood and strengthens their abilities. In fact, it’s their emotions that further increase their natural abilities of flight, and projection of pure ultraviolet energy.
Because of this, Starfire is inherently the most sensitive member of the Titans. Starfire was cared for as a child by Galfore , who first appeared in Betrothed.

He broke lots of rules about superheroes. He wasn’t rich, didn’t have a lair, tried to use his powers to earn money first, was motivated by guilt rather than altruism or revenge, was often hunted by the same people he helped, and he had the gall to be a teenager who was his own hero rather than a sidekick or mascot with the word “boy” or “kid” in his alias.
And today, it almost seems strange to think of a comic book universe that existed before him. Although he was funny and handsome, his interests in studies rather than sports made him a “nerd” in high school. One day, Peter attended a demonstration in radiation and particle accelerators and wound up bitten by a spider that had apparently been mutated by the experiments.
The spider’s radically altered venom coursed through his bloodstream, altering his biology. Within hours, Peter was powerful. He could leap 30 feet straight up into the air, cling to any surface by simple force of will, bench press several tons, and detect oncoming danger. His reflexes actually let him dodge bullets with enough distance and he was now agile enough to even balance on a single finger without difficulty. He had gained the “proportionate speed, strength and agility of a spider.
